Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to making bridge grid information usable by everyone who needs it.
Mission Critical Solutions is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, speech recognition, or other assistive technology.
Engineers, owners, contractors, and procurement teams should be able to reach the technical information they need regardless of how they access the web.
Conformance Standard
This site is designed and built to target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. WCAG defines requirements for making web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, motor, speech, and cognitive disabilities. We describe our conformance as partial, because content and features are added over time and accessibility is reviewed on an ongoing basis.
Measures We Take
Accessibility considerations built into this site include:
- Semantic HTML structure with a single, descriptive H1 on each page
- Full keyboard operability for navigation, menus, forms, and the chat assistant
- Visible focus indicators on interactive elements
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images, with decorative images hidden from assistive technology
- Color contrast targets that meet WCAG AA for body text and interface elements
- Labeled form fields with clear, text-based validation and error messages
- ARIA attributes on menus, dialogs, and expandable regions where native semantics are insufficient
- Responsive layouts that reflow without horizontal scrolling down to 320px width
- Reduced-motion support that respects operating system animation preferences
- Text that can be resized to 200% without loss of content or functionality
Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some limitations remain. We are aware of and working to address the following:
- Some technical drawings, anatomy diagrams, and comparison charts convey detail that is difficult to fully describe in alternative text, contact us for an accessible equivalent
- Downloadable specification and capabilities PDFs may not be fully tagged for screen reader navigation
- Third-party embedded content and external links may not meet the same standard
- Horizontally scrolling card carousels on mobile are keyboard and swipe accessible but may require additional scrolling
If any of these limitations prevent you from getting the information you need, we will provide it in another format at no cost.
Alternative Access to Information
Any information on this site is available through direct contact with the MCS Bridge team. We can provide load tables, span data, specification details, and project information by phone, email, plain-text document, or large print on request.
You can also submit a project inquiry by phone or email instead of using the online form.
Assessment Approach
Accessibility of this site is evaluated through a combination of automated testing, manual keyboard-only testing, and review against WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria. New pages and features are reviewed as they are published. We have not commissioned a formal third-party audit; if you require one for procurement purposes, contact us.
Feedback and Reporting a Barrier
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you encounter a barrier, please tell us:
- The page address where the problem occurred
- A description of what you were trying to do
- The browser, operating system, and assistive technology you were using
Send accessibility feedback to rfq@mcs-steel.com or call (814) 497-5001. We aim to respond to accessibility inquiries within five business days and will work with you to provide the information or service you need.
Ongoing Commitment
Accessibility is treated as an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-time project. As this site grows, new content and features are built to the same standard, and reported issues are prioritized for correction. This statement is reviewed and updated as improvements are made.
